The main objective of the trip was to present the Argentinean technological offer and position Argentina as a software production pole.
In the context of the visit, the gestation of the project to install an area of business that permits to make easier the internationalization of companies of the sector in no more than a year.
The business activities contemplated the realization of the Seminary “Day of the Argentinean Technology in Barcelona” on May the 16th and Business Round with local counterparts and visits to companies and technological parks, between them, the 22@BCN technological district, the Barcelona Activa enterprising center, the Polytechnic University and the La Salle University and the Port Administration of that city.
The Schedule of interviews was developed previous to the mission, together with the Commerce Chamber of Barcelona, with the back up of Barcelona''''''''''''''''s City Counsil.
The mission was developed in the context of the institutional visit of the SME Undersecretary, Matias Kulfas, to different Spanish organisms in Catalonia, with the purpose of interchanging experiences and support programs to the SME. Regarding this, Matias Kulfas stressed that “The sector of Software and IT Services is a strategic industry for Argentina, because it is based in the knowledge and intensively uses human resources of high qualification level, due to what it has a big potential in generating job possibilities and aggregated value in the economy”.
